Holidays in the In-Between:
Leaving Fundamentalism and Navigating Loss
with Rachael Clinton Chen, MDiv, and Rebekah Vickery, LMHC
Thursday, December 11, 2025 | 1:00 - 3:00 PM PT
The holidays can be hard. Really hard.
Maybe you’re feeling the absence of loved ones, the distance from traditions that no longer fit, or the quiet ache of being out of step with family, church, or a faith you once held tightly. Maybe leaving fundamentalism has opened a space that feels lonely, uncertain, or even frightening.
If this feels familiar, you are not alone. This 2-hour, live webinar is for those who are stepping away from a fundamentalist worldview but still want to honor their faith and spirituality. Together, we’ll create a safe space to explore the grief, loss, and questions that often come with this transition, especially in the context of the holidays.
In this session, you’ll be invited to:
Sit with the grief of leaving a spiritual system—losing familiar rituals, community, and even parts of yourself—without rushing toward “fixing” it.
Recognize how past spiritual abuse and complex trauma can show up in your body, mind, and relationships.
Discover ways to relate to family, friends, and communities still within fundamentalist frameworks while maintaining your own boundaries.
Explore grounding practices and language to navigate the holidays with both honesty and care.
Notice the small signs of life, hope, and possibility that emerge even in the midst of loss.
This is a space for reflection, compassion, and practical guidance. You will leave with a deeper sense of how to honor your own journey, care for yourself, and imagine a way forward that feels authentic and life-giving.
